October 2, 2009-March 12, 2010
Add Review/Comment
There is something magical about mobiles. Like living creatures, they move and have personalities; they can be humorous, meditative, or graceful. In this class we will take a look at works of some of the most famous kinetic artists such as Alexander Calder and George Rickey. Students will work with different types of wire and geometrical shapes of wood, plastic, metal sheets, etc. to create their own mobiles. We will explore ways to balance, assemble, and hang mobiles, and students will be encouraged to create their own unique designs. Limited to 6.Instructor: Vladimir Barsukov 4 sessions M: $79 NM: $88 Materials: $30
