Commissioned and written for the New York Festival of Song in 2007, this one-act comedic opera is a “riff on Machiavelli’s La Mandragola, and on the zarzuela style,” in which a young man will resort to any means as he desperately seeks the love of a seemingly virtuous young married woman. Presented as part of the 13th annual Fall Fringe Festival. The School of Music Opera Institute and School of Theatre are once again joining forces to present a series of operas, plays, and recitals in a 90-seat black box venue in this celebration of eclectic and contemporary works.

This year’s Festival runs October 9 – November 1 and features: The Good Person or Setzuan, Lucrezia, Antigone, and Recital Meets Theatre.
