August 27, 2009
Add Review/Comment
The Coolidge Corner Theatre continues its year-long 75th anniversary celebration with a special event, ONLY AT THE COOLIDGE. Brookline-based author Susan Quinn will tell the story of the Coolidge in a multi-media presentation, using archival photos from the 1930s, when talkies were the new sensation, and from the twenty-first century, when Meryl Streep conferred her personal blessing on the beloved movie house and when the gorgeous art deco interiors were restored to their original luster. Quinn's presentation will be followed by a generous selection of specially chosen footage from the history of film introduced by Justin Freed, one-time Coolidge owner/programmer. Tickets are $15 and include a copy of "Only At The Coolidge: The Story of a Remarkable Movie Theater,” written by Quinn.
