Celebrate the beauty of September with this extraordinary chamber music concert. Oboist Barbara LaFitte returns to MEE’s Summer Concert Series with alluring and evocative music for oboe and strings. The program includes John Harbison’s Six American Painters, reflecting on paintings of Bingham, Eakins, Heade, Innes, Hoffman and Diebenkorn; Benjamin Britten’s Phantasy No. 2 for oboe quartet; and a Haydn Trio, a salute to the great composer. And yes, the strings will shine, too! The Dohnanyi Serenade Op. 10 will carry MEE’s summer season to a brilliant close. Join us for the beautiful and autumnal notes of oboe and strings.
