Add Review/Comment
The Coolidge Corner Theatre is kicking off a new season of its popular Science on Screen series with a screening of the '70s classic COMA. The film is set in a Boston hospital, was shot at what is now the Stride Rite headquarters in nearby Lexington, and stars Michael Douglas and Genevieve Bujold. A cult favorite, it’s a riveting medical thriller. Directed by former physician Michael Crichton (writer of Jurassic Park), COMA was based on a book written by another physician, best-selling author Robin Cook, MD, who completed his postgraduate medical training at Harvard. Dr. Cook, whose work is focused on medical issues affecting public health and the ethical implications of these issues, will be at the Coolidge to introduce the screening.
