October 1-October 25, 2009
Add Review/Comment
Joshua O’Donnell and John Peterson are two of the most recent artist members of The Guild of Boston Artists. John was invited to join in 2006 and Joshua in 2008. Both artists have studied with Paul Ingbretson, a third generation Boston School teacher. It is appropriate that this show follows the 95th Anniversary Exhibition whose theme focused on continuing the tradition left by the founders and former members of the organization. Mr. O’Donnell’s work covers a wide spectrum of subjects: landscape, still life, portraiture, and figures, while Mr. Peterson primarily paints landscapes and still lifes. Although stemming from the same roots, both demonstrate a unique voice in their art. Joshua’s still lifes often delight with an unexpected choice of subject matter, and his landscapes often reflect the scenery he experienced while living in the Czech Republic. John’s landscapes and still lifes offer a vibrancy and truthfulness of color that is reminiscent of the great Impressionists.
