Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, best-known of its kind in Asia, formed in 1879 as the Shanghai Band, orchestra in 1907, promoting Western music - "the best in the Far East". Yuja Wang has established herself as one of the most significant pianists of her generation. Works of Mussorgsky, Rachmaninoff, as well as the "Iris Devoilee" 2nd half of program.
