WGBH's Emily Rooney to receive John Kleshinski Prize

Join us for a lovely autumnal luncheon at four-star Hamersley's Bistro to honor award-winning journalist and talk show host, Emily Rooney of WGBH’s Greater Boston. Ms. Rooney will receive the 3rd Annual John Kleshinski Prize from Community Music Center of Boston. Emily Rooney is widely recognized as the host, executive editor and creator of WGBH's shows, Greater Boston and Beat the Press. Since Greater Boston’s launch in 1997, Emily has brought her journalistic credentials and deep knowledge of media, politics, and culture to the program and has earned numerous awards, including the National Press Club's prestigious Arthur Rowse Award for Press Criticism, Edward R. Murrow Award, Peabody awards, a series of New England Emmy Awards, and Associated Press recognition for Best News/Talk Show. She was recently inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Now celebrating its 100th anniversary, Community Music Center of Boston (“the Music Center”) is a nationally-recognized, accredited non-profit music school in the heart of Boston’s hip and historic South End, with a demonstrated commitment to providing excellent music instruction to individuals and groups of all ages and abilities, transforming lives citywide. All proceeds will benefit the John Kleshinski Concert series, which provides access to exceptional music performances free of cost in an intimate, family-friendly community setting.
