Musical theatre lovers are in for an autumn treat when the Footlight Club, America’s oldest community theatre, presents their next production, Hello, Dolly! Directed by Richard Repetta, with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and book by Michael Stewart, this Tony award-winning musical adaptation of Thornton Wilder’s The MatchMaker tells the story of Dolly Levi, a widowed matchmaker, who makes it her business to find a suitable wife for wealthy Horace Vandergelder-until she decides she wants him for herself and stops at nothing to get him while helping a variety of characters find romance, too! This production features the talent of JP performers Corinne Bourgoin, Rob Guptill, Thomas Morf, Chris Nadeau, and Sara Taylor. Rounding out the talented cast are Amanda Aldi, Anabelle Ambrose, Alison Beach, Jim Buckley, Julia Deegler, Richard Downey, Luiz Filho, Linda Goetz, Ian Hilder, Karen Ieong, Sharon McMillen, Tim McShea, Danielle Melillo, Dan Moore, Dorian Oberstein, Johanna Perri, Emily Perry, Anna Poplawski, Todd Sandstrom, Jim Tabor, Melody Tang, Noah Tobin, Nicole Vander Laan, Martin West, and Elena Wölk. Performances at Eliot Hall at 7A Eliot St. at Monument Square will be November 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21 at 8 p.m. and November 15 at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.footlight.org or by calling 524-3200. The Footlight Club has offered performances every year since 1877. This historical gem strives to present the best in non-professional theater to a broad-based audience, and to preserve and maintain Eliot Hall as a community resource. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Boston Cultural Council, a local agency funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, administered by the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Tourism, and Special Events.
