STEAM CARS AND THE STANLEYS: TURN OF THE CENTURY NEWTON The year is 1897 and a new century is about to turn. Competition rages among various automotive technologies. Twin brothers from Maine make their bid for steam car supremacy while helping forge community life among the newly rich of Newton. Come hear history repeat itself and glimpse Newton in its suburban glory days. Karen Dacey will speak about her new book, The Stanleys of Newton. Free.
