26th Annual Almost Miniatures Show
November 20, 2009 - January 16, 2010
Francesca Anderson Fine Art, Portraits North, 56 Adams St., Lexington, will present their 26th Annual Almost Miniatures Show Nov 20– Jan 16, 2010. Started in 1983 when the gallery was in Boston, the show was originally called “Almost Miniatures by Prominent Artists.” The show today is based on the same theme, to offer clients very small, exquisite, Newbury St. quality, affordable paintings by artists who are well known, and now also by those who are not known. Oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, prints and graphites by more than 56 artists are shown on the gallery’s two floors. More than 200 paintings offer a wide variety of subject matter, from landscapes of New England, New Mexico and Wyoming, to paintings of adorable animals; to canal scenes of Venice; to unbelievably beautiful pastels and oil still lifes of fruit or china. Over half of the show are small paintings that are no larger than 8” x 10” by New England’s finest realist artists. Miniature paintings, no larger than 2” x 4”, are also in the show, painted by artists from England, Australia, California, Florida, New Mexico, and more. Gallery hours: Wed¬–Sat, 10am–5pm, Sunday, 2–6pm during shoes. The gallery always closes Dec 24–Jan 1, re-opening Jan 2.
