Worcester Childrens Chorus Annual Holiday Concert
December 6, 2009
The Worcester Children’s Chorus will present its holiday concert on Sunday, December 6th at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit on the campus of Assumption College. Founded in September of 2008, The Worcester Children’s Chorus offers children ages 10 through18 the opportunity to sing choral music ranging from Classical to Gospel. All members are auditioned, and the chorus is supported through tuition, and tax-deductible contributions. Scholarships are offered to families on a financial needs basis. Current membership includes singers from: Grafton, Holden, Hubbardston, Jefferson, Lancaster, North Brookfield, Northborough, Oxford, Paxton, Shrewsbury, Sturbridge, Westborough, and Worcester. The Chorus, directed by Malcolm Halliday and Jennifer Kane, was formed under the auspices of the Master Singers of Worcester and resides on the campus of Assumption College. This year a new group of younger singers, the Da Capo Training Choir, directed by Philip Montgomery, will join the older youth in this special holiday concert. The program will feature seasonal selections as well as an audience sing-along. A reception will follow in the atrium of the Testa Science Building.
