Strongman by Zach Levy (2009, 113 min). Described as "a strange and strangely beautiful movie" by Variety's John Anderson, Strongman is the cinema verite story of Stanley “Stanless Steel” Pleskun, who can lift dump trucks and bend pennies with his bare hands, but struggles to transcend a chaotic home life and his advancing age. Years in the making,Strongman is both tender and tough, comic and tragic--a Fellini-esque testament to the possibilities of long-range nonfiction filmmaking and one of the purest contemporary takes on the Maysles-style verite tradition in years. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at this year's Slamdance Festival, the film also played at the 2009 South-by-Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival.
