POOKA IN THE WOODS/A Celtic Solstice Celebration in Dance, Music & Story

Ipswich Moving Company presents POOKA IN THE WOODS - A Celtic Celebration of the Solstice through Story, Dance and Music. Ipswich Moving Company dancers along with musicians and a storyteller present an hour-long dance theatre concert based on a Celtic Folk Tale about a Pooka’s encounters in a magical forest. POOKA IN THE WOODS is a wonderful holiday event for children and adults. The theatre is transformed into a magical forest where dancers turn into swans, aerial creatures become old ladies, and the Pooka (part human - part animal spirit) leads everyone in a celebration of the Winter Solstice. Janet Taisey Craft directs and choreographs along with Company dancers: Chandra Cantor, Jenny Carlson, Danielle DiVito, DeAnna Pellecchia , and Ingrid Schatz, accompanied by Sarah Cantor and Angus Lansing performing Celtic folk music. The audience is invited to an informal question and answer session with the Company immediately following each performance.
