Explore the development of style and technique in art through the history of abstraction. Looking at how abstract artists have been inspired by landscape, the body, mythology and surrealism, you will explore how you might shape your own approach to art. We will work with two-dimensional media including drawing, painting and collage. Artist Brigid Watson is the teacher. This class is designed for people who have some previous experience with painting. Each student will use the medium of his or her choice, whether watercolor, oil, acrylic, etc. You will begin painting at the first class, so bring your painting supplies with you and prepare to dive in right away.
