(Counter)Reformation: Musical Responses to a Crisis of Faith
January 31, 2010
Add Review/Comment
Convivium’s Winter 2010 program explores an amazing range of responses to the changing place of choral music in worship in 16th century Europe, and the astonishing beauty released by religious upheaval. The program includes large-scale, rarely-heard works by Le Jeune (Dodecachorde, Ps. 35), Senfl (Ecce quam bonum), and Anerio (Requiem), as well as William Byrd’s Mass for 4 voices.
