Room Views: The Titian Room and Sensuality

Thursday, January 14, 2010 6:30 PM - Tapestry Room With Artist-in-Residence and author Gregory Maguire and Curator of the Collection Alan Chong The only room within the palace that contains an object physically worn by Isabella Gardner - the large swatch of fabric from her House of Worth gown - lies beneath Titian's sensuous painting of Europa. Is this the museum's most sensual installation? What does it say about provocation and playfulness in gilded age Boston? Followed by a wine reception around the courtyard.
