Thursdays [6:30] Jan. 14, 21, 28, Feb. 4, 11 This course is open to everyone with an interest in music and a curiosity about music theory. The class is about understanding patterns in music. Beethoven understood them, Jimi Hendrix understood them, Elvis understood them - shouldn't you? In this class you will learn about some of the basic ‘building blocks’ of music. In the comfort of your own home you will be able to use those building blocks to better understand your instrument (if you have one), advance your writing (if you’d like to write songs) and develop a keener ear for the music you’ve been listening to your whole life. This class has no prerequisites and all interested are encouraged to attend. It is a beginning-level course and those with prior music theory training should seek a more advanced class.
