Joanna Newsom has gained a devoted following in recent years with her ethereal voice, narrative lyrics and virtuoso harp playing. Newsom has been playing the harp since she was eight and began her career opening for Bonnie Prince Billy’s tour in 2002. Her debut album, The Milk-Eyed Mender, was released in 2004 to critical acclaim and was followed by the ambitious, orchestral Ys (2006). Performing in the acoustically stunning Sanders Theatre, Newsom and her band will feature songs from her recently completed third album, which Drag City will release in the spring.
