    Beverly Semmes first gained recognition for her monumental dresses and other large-scale clothing sculptures that invoke a powerful feminist perspective. Since then, she has worked with a variety of mediums and materials, including thigh high pottery vessels, glass, costume and theater design, and dramatic fabric-scapes that incorporate hundreds of yards of fabric.
