The Afro-Semitic Experience
March 7, 2010
Add Review/Comment
The concerts of the Afro-Semitic Experience are celebrations of music and story-telling that offer a positive and meaningful message: “Unity in the Community.” Visceral, intellectual, cathartic — it all adds up to an Afro-Semitic Experience. Imagine Charles Mingus sitting in with a Klezmer band, playing gospel music set to the polyrhythmic pace of the congas and bongos. The Afro-Semitic Experience transforms any space into a whoopin’, hollerin’, testifyin’ celebration of multicultural soul music. Presented by the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life at Wellesley College.
