Trustees Room, 11th Floor, Tower Building A life-sized sperm whale made of white felt, a bed that wets itself, a giant sci-fi Cyclops—Tristan Lowe’s (BFA ’90) sculptures delve into the abject and vulnerable, the childish and crude. Celebratory, critical, and self-deprecating, Lowe’s sculptures tap into social norms, fantasy worlds, underground culture, the carnival, and burlesque. Lowe has forthcoming solo exhibitions at Williams College Museum of Art, MA and RISD Museum of Art, RI. He has exhibited at the Centre d'Art Contemporain, Switzerland; Fabric Workshop and Museum, PA; and Museum of Contemporary Art, Australia.
