April 15, 2010
Add Review/Comment
In January of 2010, Governor Deval Patrick signed sweeping legislation to reform the Massachusetts schools with the hope of raising standards and narrowing the ever-growing achievement gap. As Boston moves into a new decade, how will the city’s schools advance to the next level? Joseph M. Cronin, former Massachusetts Secretary of Education; George Greenidge, Executive Director of National Black College Alliance; Jean McGuire, Executive Director of METCO; and Claudio Martinez, Executive Director of the Hyde Square Task Force, join moderator Tessil Collins, Senior Coordinator for the Boston Public Schools, to reflect on the challenges of previous decades as well as the hurdles ahead in developing a stronger public school system for Boston.
