Tell Me a Beautiful Lie is an original musical under development by Chris Guin. Set in the Crimea shortly after the Russian Revolution, the story follows a young woman torn between her revolutionary lover, long vanished, and an old childhood friend, now a sailor with the counterrevolutionary White Guards. We'll be presenting a staged reading to see how the show fares with real actors and singers in front of a real audience.

      I've been part of Chris's development process this past year as a critiquer. I know this show very well and can heartily recommend it. Chris has written (and composed) a dramatic musical with both emotional depth and and philosophical interest. And there's humor too! I've thoroughly enjoyed it the now many times I've experienced it in our critique meetings. There's much to interest and delight. Collapse
