Bollywood at the BCAE

Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a Bollywood movie star? On March 4, 2010 the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) will be transformed in the spirit of Bollywood! With music and dance, fashion, art and food-there’s something for everyone! Guests can become Bollywood beautiful like the real actors with incredibly intricate henna designs from henna artist and BCAE instructor Reshama High! Or wrap yourself in luxury and see how the stars of Bollywood dress on the red carpet, with a sarre-wrapping lesson and trunk show by Shelley Chhabra, sarre designer and owner of Shelley Chhabra Bridal. Building an appetite from all the stardom? Well then pack your bags and get ready to take your taste buds on a flavorful trip with an Indian cooking demo and tasting by BCAE instructor Priyanka Sanchetti. From 7:00pm to 8:00pm the BCAE will transform into a Bollywood stage as the award winning Boston Bhangra teach you a step or two of traditional Agricultural folk dance originating from the Punjab region and featured in many Bollywood films. Enjoy an open bar featuring beer and wine from 6:00pm-7:00pm as DJ Yogz plays traditional Bollywood music. If you haven’t been to a BCAE exclusive educational event yet, here’s your chance! About the BCAE: Founded in 1933, the Boston Center for Adult Education is the oldest, nonprofit adult education center in New England.
