Irish Step Dancing class

This fun and interactive class will provide you with a solid base in Irish step dancing. You will build a repertoire of beginner steps in reels, jigs, hornpipes, and slipjigs while focusing on rhythm, timing, posture, balance, and proper warm-up routines. Special attention will be paid to understanding the relationship of the movements to the music. In addition to solo steps, you will learn some group ceili dances, so you can join in at local events! Ghillies or dance sneakers are appropriate for the soft shoe portion and tap shoes or leather-soled shoes are appropriate for the hard-shoe portion. Everyone ages 14+ is welcome.
