CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Hawaiian Hula class
March 11-April 15, 2010
In an excellent introduction to Polynesian dance and culture, students will be taught the basic movements of a modern-style hula. In keeping with the story-telling nature of hula and to give students a more in-depth understanding of Hawaiian culture, Hawaiian songs will be translated, the meanings of dances will be explained, and the hula’s importance in Hawaiian society from ancient to modern times will be discussed. No experience is necessary. Marta Moussa has over 20 years of experience as a performer and teacher of Polynesian dance. Everyone ages 14+ is welcome. Register by phone or online.
