Embark on a delectable journey to the culinary corners of the world as over 30 amateur cooks compete for fame and prizes at this special benefit for Revels' educational programs. Last year guests sampled everything from smoked salmon to jerk chicken to southern lemon chess pie. Come see what the celebrity judges think about the competitors' creations this year.

      SATURDAY Home cooking By Milva Didomizio April 8, 2010 Good chefs aren’t found only in the kitchens of fancy restaurants. Nonprofessionals can produce great culinary creations, too. The Revels Cook-Off offers a chance to meet, mingle with, and sample the specialties of more than 30 amateur cooks at an event to benefit the organization’s education programs. Participants compete in categories including Global Cuisine, Just Like Mom Used to Make, and Decadent Desserts. Local luminaries will be on hand to judge the dishes, but you get to bestow prizes, too, by voting for the People’s Choice Award. April 10, 6:30-8:30 p.m. $25.
