For immediate Release: March 1, 2010 EVENT DATE MAR 15th 2010 Story slam: On the theme- “Outrageous!” Where do we find the Outrageous – or… where does it find us? On the threshold of St. Patrick’s Day we share the many forms the Outrageous – or Blarney – can take in our lives. You lived through it, now you can tell it. massmouth Story Slam, March 15th at Kennedy’s Midtown, 42 Province St. Boston, MA. Tickets at the door only. $8-10 includes one drink. Boston radio personality Brian O’Donovan of Celtic Sojourn on WGBH-FM co-hosts with Norah Dooley, co- founder of massmouth, storyteller and story slam producer. Brian and Norah set the tone for upcoming St. Patrick’s Day, as massmouth‘s series continues on MAR 15th at Kennedy’s Midtown, 42 Province Street, a nice stretch of the legs from Park Street T stop. Seating starts at 6:30pm. Stories begin at 7pm. If you have a five-minute story on the theme “Outrageous”, bring it and drop your name in the box. Ten lucky tellers will be drawn at random to tell and be judged. Like a poetry slam, there will be 3 teams of 3 judges and massmouth awards the top two stories. Listeners will be engaged in story improv games between each 5-minute feature. massmouth and Kennedy’s offer a $50 gift certificate and a t-shirt for the winner of each monthly slam. In April 2010 all the winners will gather for the big mouthoff/ story slam at Rabb Hall at Copley Square Library. massmouth will award the lucky 1st place winner of this contest a one week stay in a townhouse in Tuscany, along with 2nd and 3rd place prizes.
