On Friday, March 25, The Lily Pad at Inman Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts will be bursting with the soul, rocking to the roots and grooving to the jazz of Naya Records’ double record release party for Sarah Brindell’s wonderfully eclectic Dreaming Shoes and Cameron Greenlee’s lively instrumental project, Cameron and the Trenton Street Collaborative. Soul, jazz, folk and roots fans are invited to come celebrate Sarah Brindell’s sophomore studio release and Greenlee’s debut record. Special guest, the soulful Shea Rose, will remind everyone what the buzz is all about. It’s an all ages event and all are welcome. Keyboardist and singer/songwriter Sarah Brindell has been cooed over from east coast (the “newly minted diva of pop, funk and jazz” – Boston Globe) to west (“simply mesmerizing” – Time Out San Francisco). Dreaming Shoes, her second studio release following Piece Of Mind and Live At The Paradise, which evolves out of soul, folk, pop and Brazilian, as well as Caribbean rhythms, is an inspired journey from beginning to one, well, you just won’t want to end. Stepping out from behind his day job as keyboardist for the seminal Jamaican ska group, The Skatalites, Cameron Greenlee’s debut release in which he takes the role of bandleader, Cameron and the Trenton Street Collaborative, fuses wicked roots reggae with delightful jazz. Featuring funky guitar riffs, beautiful piano, Rastafarian percussive beats, and triumphant horns.
