Kristina Lenzi: Clumsy Cakes Returns
March 19, 2010
Clumsy Cakes began her performance career in 2004 in Sandy, Utah. There, she performed twice for an invited audience, and was concerned with finding her grandmother’s lost cake recipe. During the summer of 2005, Clumsy Cakes found herself once a week for 10 weeks in the Great Hall of the Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA.) It was in the UMFA that Clumsy Cakes attempted to discover the meaning of a blank canvas. In 2007, traumatized by the war that George W. Bush began, Clumsy Cakes went to Waterloo Center for the Arts in Iowa to perform Post-Traumatic Clumsy Cakes. Clumsy Cakes returns this time in Cambridge, Massachusetts at the Meme Gallery, and she is very, very worried.
