The only way to really get the difference between an Old World wine and a New World wine is to taste them side by side, one after the other. Two different wines, two different continents, but the same grape. First you'll taste Sauvignon Blanc from the Old World. Fifteen minutes later you'll taste Sauvignon Blanc from the New World. Then you'll vote for your favorite. Next you'll taste Riesling from the Old World. Fifteen minutes later you'll taste Riesling from the New World. Then you'll vote for your favorite. We'll repeat the process with red wines too (Pinot Noir and Syrah). We pour. You taste. We debate. You vote. Everyone wins. It will be lively and fun and by the end of it you will — finally! — recognize the difference between New World and Old World wines. It's the perfect way to end your work week! Event is from 6-8:30pm.
