THE MEISNER/CHEKHOV FOUNDATION INTENSIVE is for actors who recognize the importance of building a solid foundation for their creative work. More experienced actors who rightly feel the need to sharpen their basic skills will also benefit from this training. The Meisner and Chekhov techniques are complementary approaches to acting which • Ground the actor in his or her body • Awaken and elaborate the artistic imagination • Strengthen the capacity for intense inner action • Loosen habitual restrictions to expressive emotion • Develop and sharpen the feeling for truthful behavior THE MEISNER TECHNIQUE is a direct and powerful approach to truthful acting. For film and television acting, in particular, behaving truthfully under imaginary circumstances is the bottom line. Actors who can do that, get noticed, get remembered, get work. THE CHEKHOV METHOD frees the actor’s natural talent and opens the door to creative inspiration. Chekhov training and practice develops the actor’s whole psycho-physical instrument, the means for creative expression. It is the pivotal basis for the actor’s work. Upon it rests the actor’s likelihood for professional and artistic success.
