A lively repertoire of traditional Yiddish songs meets unique compositions with Sarah Gordon and Yiddish Princess Unplugged! The young New York City band features powerful vocalist Sarah Gordon; the young klezmer star Michael Winograd on the synthesizer; and rising klezmer musicians Yoshie Fruchter on rhythm guitar, Avi Fox-Rosen on lead guitar, Ari Folman-Cohen on bass and Chris Berry on drums.

    Isaac Bashevis Singer and his Artists National Yiddish Book Center Isaac Bashevis Singer and his Artists Presented by Yiddish Book Center at National Yiddish Book Center October 25, 2011-February 15, 2012 This unique exhibit features more than 80 paintings, drawings, and photographs created by 17 different artists for Isaac Bashevis Singer's (1902-1991) prolific legacy of books and stories. Curator's talk: Thursday, October 27 at 7 PM.

    Esther: A One Act Opera for the whole family National Yiddish Book Center Esther: A One Act Opera for the whole family Presented by Yiddish Book Center at National Yiddish Book Center March 4, 2012 Join us for hamantashen, a costume contest, interactive workshop, and a lively performance of the story of Purim! "Esther: A One-Act Opera" begins at 2PM, with an upbeat score, juggling, dancing, and wry, poignant lyrics that recount the story of Purim for the whole family. Free for children.
