Sam Jaffe's photographs are beautiful. His compositions of Massachusetts Caterpillars along with their host plants are striking and elegant and can stand alone as works of art. The compositions are all set against a black background and are printed in a large format. The images reveal to us a diverse population of creatures to be found right here in Massachusetts, that we rarely observe . They are beautiful in their detail and ingenious in their evolutionary development. Sam's macro photography never disguises the subject matter but reveals its complexity to be admired. Each photograph is accompanied by a brief biological description which is well worth reading, and if you are fortunate to find the artist on site you will learn much more! Collapse
