In her artwork sculptor Catherine Evans makes order out of things, often beginning with the structure of a grid. She uses visual repetition of objects to control disorder. Yet disorder seems inevitable. Among other materials, Ms. Evans uses over 14 miles of braded gimp, bathmats, and paper cups.
Artist Brenda Cirioni's exhibit features paintings and 3-D artwork with a focus on the natural world. She uses her art to take us to the forest where she witnesses the exhuberance and impermanence of life and that experience and knowledge informs her art.
This is an exhibit of artwork by 18 artists, who experiment with different materials, techniques and approaches, express their ideas in book form. Reception: Sat. Jan. 8, 2-4 p.m.
