90 voice SATB chorus with professional standards. Repertoire: Sacred and secular music from Monteverdi to contemporary, including commissions performing 3 concerts per year. Newton Choral Society has developed its reputation as one of the finest choruses in the Boston area. We aim to offer performances that marry “downtown quality” musicianship with suburban convenience (affordable ticket prices and easy parking). While our name pays tribute to our distinguished city of origin, the Newton Choral Society attracts singers from around the greater Boston metropolitan area. Nearly three-quarters of the current members of NCS reside outside of Newton. NCS members are extraordinarily dedicated to the group and volunteer actively to take on the many duties that keep the chorus growing and thriving.
