Organization

The Northeastern Section of the American Chemical Society (NESACS) is a large section – with over 7000 members encompassing Boston, the western suburbs, SE MASS including Cape Cod and the Islands and all the way to Northern NH. On average, about eighty members attend monthly section meetings. These meetings usually take place somewhere in the Boston area on the second Thursday of each month between September and May. In addition, the section has a vibrant Younger Chemists Committee (see URL: www.nsycc.org), a very active medicinal chemistry sub-group, and a dynamic Education Committee (chemistry outreach to science teachers and students K-12), which oversee a wide range of additional activities including events in which the general public can participate.
