Dan DeNicola is the recipient of the Rod Parker Playwriting Festival Award and will have his original play PAINT produced by Emerson Stage. The spring line-up begins with X Dance, a showcase of new work by Emerson's dancers and choreographers. X Dance will be artistically directed by Marlena Yannetti who has been teaching dance at Emerson for over 30 years. Ms. Yannetti describes X Dance as "an exciting opportunity for students to meet and exchange choreographic ideas, and one that results in interaction between students that might not have otherwise met."
