Boston's professional, affordable theatre for all generations produces 3 plays each season: an adult drama, a family musical, and a children's story. Our mission of accessibility includes affordable ticket prices, performance enhancements for deaf and blind patrons, and a colorful casting policy for both professional and youth roles.

      This was a wonderful production of Aladdin. My two grandchildren, ages 6 and 8, could not take their eyes off the stage. They cheered when the magician fell out the window and did not want the show to end. The time flew by; at intermission I could not believe an hour had past. The snacks in the lobby were loved by the kids and the price was perfect. Collapse

      This was just right for bringing the kids. The actors and scenery were excellent. The venue was not too huge. The kids were thrilled by the set of walls which raised up to reveal the upstairs bedroom.... Expand

For me, I found the hand signing actors and light up board at times distracting, and other times helpful in deciphering what some of the actors were saying. Collapse

      This was a reasonably well done play, but the story has been very over simplified and much of the magic of the original story is lost. The first act is a bit dull, the second more fun and engaging. I found the fact that there are not only two message boards flashing every line on either side of the stage distracting, but that the signers are actually on the stage, often standing right in the middle of the action, and often obscuring the view of the actors really intolerable.This was poor judgment on the part of the director to allow the signers to interfere with the rhythm and feel of the play. Many times the signers are just off the stage discreetly on the side: in this case the signers were really acting themselves and were very distracting and unfairly competed with the actors in the play. Rethink this, please for the sake of the performers! Collapse

One change is I'd tone down the background music just a tad b/c sometimes it was hard to make out the words in the songs as the instruments could overtake the voices on the young girls. Collapse

      It was a great family outing with our 6 and 7 year old (boy and girl). Performances were excellent, love the venue (doubt there's a bad seat in the house), and love that we can expose the kids to live... Expand
