Placing Color is an exhibition that explores painting as both a place of action and destination. The exhibition presents paintings by three artists, two of which are School of Visual Arts alumni: Brett Baker (CFA '99), Kayla Mohammadi (CFA '02), and Carrie Patterson. Seen together, the artists' intensely individual approaches create places that are both intimate and immense, unified by sensitivity to the means of painting in ways of touch and color.

Contemporary Perspectives Lecture: Ursula von Rydingsvard and Debra Bricker Balken Polish-American sculptor Ursula von Rydingsvard's monumental, organic forms are constructed from sawn and chiseled cedar beams, revealing the personal touch of the human hand. An admirer of von Rydingsvard's work, Debra Bricker Balken has written extensively on art, artists, theory and criticism. Bricker Balken and von Rydingsvard will discuss the artist's life and career, and thoughts on contemporary art.
