      One of the best and most original dance companies brings one of the best shows Varone has yet conceived to Boston. The score is David Van Tieghem is electrifying and a perfect match for the company's brand of kinetic and conceptually brilliant dance. If you don't know the company, check it out. There are no bad seats and this show is amazing. Varone is a genius and these dancers are uniquely talented. Collapse

      Great performance. My only complaint is there was no explanation of the meanings of any of the songs or dances. If they didn't speak English they could have provided information in the program (which did contain biographies of the group members). They have a detailed website so whoever wrote for the website could have written some explanations that would have enhanced the experience. Collapse

      The Rhythm of Rajasthan were fantastic. At times very drony with one of the musicians playing a harmonium, other times soaring with a vocalist who who could bend and clip notes and wail on spiritual devotional pieces. One guy played the kamancheh (spiked violin), an instrument I really love. The dancer, who was in the film Latcho Drom, was truly amazing. On one piece she balanced about ten metal urns on her head while dancing. Other times she swirled hypnotically. And then there was the piece where she showed her contortionist moves by bending her body back and picking up articles with her mouth she had placed on the floor. Collapse
