Stoneham Theatre, MetroNorth's award-winning professional theatre, offers the best in live entertainment in an intimate, inviting setting right in your backyard. Located in the heart of Stoneham Square, you'll enjoy the convenience of many fine restaurants and free parking, in addition to our comfortable seating and friendly service. Along with great theatre, we offer comprehensive youth education programs. Stoneham Theatre is also home to The Atelier Gallery, a satellite gallery of the Griffin Museum of Photography, showcasing fine art photography.

Directions and Parking

FROM THE NORTH SHORE - Follow I-95/128 South to Exit 38A. Continue onto Route 28 South 2 miles ahead on the right.

FROM BOSTON AND POINTS SOUTH - Follow I-93 North to Exit 34. Continue onto Route 28 North 1 mile ahead on the left.

Free on-street parking is also available on the streets around the theatre.

Everyone can't wait for the newest royal wedding; the aggravating Queen Aggravain has declared no one may marry before her son, the very daunted Prince Dauntless. Enter the most unlikely princess: Winnifred, a girl from the swamps who is anything but "Shy;" it's the role that made Carol Burnett famous!       This was my first time to the Stoneham Theatre and I wasn't sure what to expect from a musical with four actors, a piano player and a band. However I was wonderfully suprised by not only the performance but the location! First the theatre is nicely restored, has reasonably priced refreshments and pleasant staff. The show, Sisters of Swing used new technology in an engaging and effective way to bring the life of the Andrews Sisters to the stage while not distracting from the musical numbers or witty monalogs. The singing talents of the three leads were spot on and the acting made the performance flow. The constant presence of the piano man and humorous male lead kept the play moving. You never got bored! (this is unique for me where I've fallen asleep in musicals before). The only thing I would recommend is having the band come out front or move the set to see the band at the end. They did a fabulous job! Collapse

      First, it you are looking for a cozy close to the stage setting the Stoneham Theatre is a great place to go -not a bad seat in the house. The Sisters of swing harken back to a time World War II when entertainment families held close to their Greek ethnic background and all were involved with the war even the entertainers. They often were hired by the services in war torn countries to provide a break for the troops. The story follows the career of these three beauties before, during, and after the war. The acting and singing is wonderful. However some of the songs do demonstrate that silly and stupid lyrics did not start in the 60's as your parents and grandparents would have you believe. Well worth the entertainment dollar both from a performance and historical viewpoint. Enjoy! Collapse
