Revels

Founded in 1971 by musician and educator John Langstaff. Revels is a performing arts organization that celebrates the seasons through recordings and performances featuring traditional music, dance, stories and rituals from cultures around the world. Annual public performances include “The Christmas Revels”, “Spring Sing”, “SummersDay Revels” and “RiverSing”.

    Revels Spring Sing St. John's United Methodist Church, Watertown Revels Spring Sing Presented by Revels at St. John's United Methodist Church, Watertown March 24, 2012 Celebrate the arrival of spring amidst forsythia blossoms and sprigs of green at this joyful family music event featuring lots of community singing, dancing, refreshments, and entertainment by children from Revels' Spring Workshop. Revels music director George Emlen leads the festivities with musician David Coffin, a great folk band and special guest, the legendary British folksinger, Tony Barrand. This event sells out every year. Come celebrate the Vernal Equinox as only Revels can!

      SATURDAY Home cooking By Milva Didomizio April 8, 2010 Good chefs aren’t found only in the kitchens of fancy restaurants. Nonprofessionals can produce great culinary creations, too. The Revels Cook-Off offers a chance to meet, mingle with, and sample the specialties of more than 30 amateur cooks at an event to benefit the organization’s education programs. Participants compete in categories including Global Cuisine, Just Like Mom Used to Make, and Decadent Desserts. Local luminaries will be on hand to judge the dishes, but you get to bestow prizes, too, by voting for the People’s Choice Award. April 10, 6:30-8:30 p.m. $25.       I have made it a holiday tradition for my son and I to see the Christmas Revels! He's 9 and loves the show! It was a quieter, more contemplative theme this year, but the audience participation keeps the kids involved and interested! The singers and musicians were fabulous and so entertaining. We'll be going for many years to come. Why not start you own tradition? You won't be sorry! Collapse

      The Christmas revels were great, awesome different performance for the holidays, great for adults, children would like it too. You can find free parking around as well.
