For 31 years the Big Apple Circus, New York's original one-ring circus, has been delighting audiences of all ages under its Big Top by presenting the finest in live family entertainment featuring world-class circus artistry. Experience the instant connection between audience and artist as your family sits less than 50 feet from the ring. The Big Apple Circus is a not-for-profit performing arts and outreach institution committed to invigorating the communities we serve with the joy and wonder of classical circus. Tax-deductible contributions made by corporations, foundations and individuals enable the Big Apple Circus to bring its special magic to diverse audiences through its outreach programs - Clown Care[SM], Vaudeville Caravan[SM], Circus After School[SM], Circus For All!® and Circus of the Senses® - as well as its critically acclaimed performances.

      I was expecting this show more tuned for young kids, but I was surprised. It was great, my 9 and 5 years enjoyed it a lot. In addition, I enjoyed it myself.

      We were 3 adults to bring one little 2 year old for her very first circus and we were just so astounded. Bello Nock is not just a clown, we were amazed at his level of talent, as he soared from the bottom of the ring to the top of the tent and laughed at his antics. The performers are multi-talented, you can see that they live to entertain and each audience is special to them. We enjoyed all the performers. The Big Apple Circus is a huge treat for the City of Boston. Joy enjoyed her first visit to the circus, she watched the show, specifically watched wherever Bello went. That's Entertainment! Collapse

      Great fun for all ages. Great selection of different type acts. Very clean area inside and out, and polite staff, and when I collectd tickets it was quick no ques! Will go again. Thanks

      As the title of my review says the show was great but the seating --with tickets bought through ArtsBoston-- was not great. We've bought tickets to Big Apple circus through ArtsBoston before and were happy. This time we were seated in the Mezzanine (as promised) but section 7, row DD, seats 10-13, appeared to be just below one of two spotlight guys. We had to bow our heads to see everything and we had no view of the acrobats when the safety net was fixed right in our face. You know which seats you get just before the show when you pick up the tickets and you will only know which seats are bad when you enter the circus tent. The circus website offers "Mezzanine" tickets and "Mazzanine-" tickets (the latter for a slightly lower price). I wonder if we had "Mazzanine-" seats (that would be a negative point by ArtsBoston) or that Big Apple Circus designates those seats as "regular" Mazzanine (that would be a negative point for the Circus).       We are fans of this circus. It is old good classical European circus. But this time I think if not for Bello the performance was not that great as we used to. Bello is a great clown (although I saw greater clowns growing up in Russia). His tricks really saved the day this time. May be because it is first performance in Boston this season and artists did not adjust yet but juggler lost balls and plates, trapeze artists fell, others missed the point as well. "Grandma" needs to retire already, nothing new and even old tricks are flat. But we love this circus and we will come back anyway. Collapse

      Sometimes I wonder if I bring my kids to the circus for them or me :) We had a great time at the BAC. It's a perfectly sized circus for kids. One ring, so only one thing to focus on at a time. Fun, homey, warm, a pleasure. We will go back next year. Also, Bello was very funny. And being at City Hall Plaza is a perfect launching point for having lunch in town. Collapse
