New School of Music

Founded in 1976, NSM has established a lasting reputation for high-quality music instruction open to all ability levels and ages. Our faculty members have the highest credentials as musicians and as trained and experienced teachers. They include recording artists and international performs, while many have multiple graduate degrees, and perform several musical styles or instruments. All of our teachers have a lifelong commitment to the art of teaching, and a love for working with a wide range of students and ability levels. The New School of Music's elegant recital hall and art gallery hosts free concerts year-round by faculty, students and guest artists, and art exhibits by musicians or with musical themes. The newly refurbished concert gallery is being rededicated in memory of Nicholas Van Slyck, the celebrated Cambridge composer, musician, and founder of the New School of Music.
