  This was an amazing trio of dances, equisitely done by an agile company of dancers. I am not a usual fan of ballet, but contemporary ballet such as this creates a whole more than the sum of its parts.... Expand

  Today's performance by the Merce Cunningham Dance Company with accompanying sound by Fast Forward and Stephan Moore was superb in dance and ear-splitting in audio. Innovation in style was expected but a set of ear plugs would have made it more tolerable for the audience. The program indicated live musical accompaniment. If one considers the sound of Metro subways and construction power tools played non-stop at ear splitting volume music, then this is for you. For the rest of us who appreciate precisely executed high energy expressive dance moves without the accompanying headache, bring ear plugs and/or Tylenol. My applause was partly because I was happy for the painful noise to stop and mostly for the marvelous moves and style of the wonderful dancers. Kudos to them. Here's hoping the "music" which is meant to be an important and major part of this performance is kinder and a bit toned down for the health of those not hearing impaired. Collapse
