The Center for Arts at the Armory (Arts at the Armory) is a non-profit organization that resides in the historic Somerville Armory building. Purchased nearly five years ago, the Armory is now operating as a full-fledged community arts center. Arts at the Armory’s mission is to galvanize the creative spirit by providing a space where artists and the community can come together. Recognizing that arts can bridge cultural, class, and generational divides. Arts at the Armory showcases a wide range of visual arts, dance, theater and musical performances. It also provides studio spaces for artists, a cafe, galleries, two performance spaces, classrooms, and offices for arts-related organizations. Adult art education classes and arts afterschool youth programs are integral to the organization’s mission.
