Boston Children's Theatre

Boston's theatre for young people.
Operating year-round, BCT offers mainstage productions, classes and workshops, summer programs, community-wide special events, school collaborative projects, and more!

Since 1951, BCT has presented children-featured classic and contemporary productions to more than one million children through classes, workshops, summer programs and live performances. Students have an opportunity to progress through a variety of roles as they train at BCT. In addition, BCT students learn all phases of production and become responsible for running the show. George Roland (1928 – 2010), Executive and Artistic Director for 33 years, led BCT towards its status as one of the premiere children’s theatres in the country, and developed its reputation for artistic excellence.

Boston Children’s Theatre has provided unique opportunities for inner city and suburban kids to work together and has offered year-round opportunities for young performers and audiences that are accessible, available, and affordable for all youths and families.

      Outstanding! Wonderful addition to Boston's holiday theatre. This show should be an annual event as is the Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol. Highly recommended.

      This show was absolutely wonderful! It was heartwarming and cozy. It had everything a Christmas show should have - fun, family, Christmas carols, and an all-around great story. The actors, both children and adults, are very talented and fully immersed in their roles. This adaptation of the Dylan Thomas poem is outstanding, and my ticket was money absolutely well-spent! If you love having a peek at Christmas through a child's eyes woven with the wisdom and hindsight of an adult, go see this show! I loved it! Collapse
