16th Annual Hospitality Tradeshow May 2, 2011
Over 650 attend the 16th Annual Hospitality Tradeshow (photos below)
Monday night marked the 16th annual hospitality tradeshow hosted by the Greater Boston Concierge Association (GBCA). It was probably the most fun we’ve had at a tradeshow in a long time because the historic Boston Park Plaza Castle was filled with over 650 hospitality professionals sampling and getting the inside scoop to over 125 entertainment options that call Greater Boston home. The fresh, decadence of summer could be felt and tasted throughout the night from crisp Summer Shack oysters on the half shell served by Jasper White himself, to the Foie Gras appetizer from Mistral, to the pineapple infused cocktails.
And what would a feeling a summer be without some heat. DJ Big Missy kept the crowd moving, and who could resist the heart-warming purr of kittens ready for adoption from the Animal Rescue League of Boston. Not even Catie Copley, the 4-pawed celebrity from the Fairmont Copley Plaza could pass by without saying hello.
Above all, it was great to see such a strong turnout from our member arts groups showcasing their upcoming summer seasons. A big shout out goes to:
American Repertory Theatre (A.R.T.)
ArtsEmerson: The World on Stage
Blue Man Group
Boston Ballet
Boston Symphony Orchestra
Broadway Across America
Citi Performing Arts Center
Freedom Trail Foundation
Huntington Theatre Company
Improv Asylum
Institute of Contemporary Art
Peabody Essex Museum
Shear Madness
Wilbur Theatre
According GBCA Affiliate Officer and ArtsBoston Director of Ticketing, Tourism and Special Events, Joe Donlavey, “We are thrilled that over 125 vendors and 650 hospitality professionals from around the city were able to participate in this year’s event and celebrate the city together. Even with the current financial climate, it’s a testimony to the influence and importance that in-person business networking delivers.”
It was the promise of “Boston Summer” at its best and we were so happy to be part of it all.
